Ghanaian defender Richie Laryea helps Nottingham Forest secure English Premier League promotion
Canada international of Ghanaian descent Richie Laryea has secured English Premier League promotion with Nottingham Forest.
Nottingham Forest clinched promotion to the English top-flight for the first time in 23-years after seeing off Huddersfield Town on Sunday in the Championship play-off.
Levi Colwill’s own goal in the first half was enough for Steve Cooper’s outfit to beat Huddersfield in the much-anticipated clash.
Despite not playing a part in the crucial play-off, Laryea, who joined the club in the January transfer window has secured promotion with the club.
The 27-year-old featured five times for Nottingham Forest after joining the club in the second half of the campaign.
The enterprising right-back contract will elapse next month but it is unknown whether his deal will be extended.
