Ghanaian striker Malik Abubakari staying strong despite lack of regular playing time at Malmo

Ghanaian international, Malik Abubakari has indicated that he feels alright despite the lack of playing time at Swedish side Malmo FF.

The talented forward joined the Swedish giants last season from Portuguese club Casa Pia.

Although he was supposed to use his first year to settle in, the expected chances he was supposed to get this season have not come his way.

Since the start of the 2022 football season in Sweden, Malik Abubakari has only had a few minutes to play and is yet to enjoy 90 minutes of football.

Speaking to Fotbollskanalen, the Ghanaian striker says he understands the situation and will continue to work hard in training to get the opportunities he deserves.

“I have not had three straight matches since arriving. This is happening, it’s football. It’s a club and coaching decision and I have to take it and continue. I always stay strong despite that,” the Ghanaian striker said.

Malik Abubakari continued, “Okay, people from outside ask me why I play there, when I’m not a U21 player – but I play there to stay fit and prepare for the future, and be ready to help the team at every opportunity. As I always say: Give me a second of playing time for the club and the fans I belong to, I will always give my best.”

In the coming weekend, Malik Abubakari will hope to be given the chance to play for Malmo FF when the team takes on Mjallby.
