Jan Gyamerah quits social media over racial abuse
German-born footballer of Ghanaian descent Jan Gyamerah has deleted his social media accounts due to racial abuse.
The 26-year old who deleted his Instagram account two month ago has decided to no longer use social media having been hit with several racial comment.
“I spent a lot of time there and read through things that weren’t good for me,” the Hamburger SV defender explained.
Speaking to the street magazine “Hinz & Kunzt”, he said, he feels “lighter and freer.”
Jan Gyamerah speaks of a “lonely, abandoned, helpless feeling after racist insults” in his childhood.
The enterprising defender could leave Hamburger this summer since he has no future in the club ahead of next season.
