Juju in football is not real a lot of them are all psychological – Emmanuel Agyeman Badu

Emmanuel Agyeman Badu, a former Udinese midfielder, has disputed the claim that black magic, sometimes known as juju, works in football.

He stated that it is only a state of mind that causes some people to believe in it, but it is not genuine. Some former players have however made certain statements about Ghanaian players using juju.

In an interview with Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo, the former Udinese midfielder urged players to focus on their training and reject the thought of playing with juju.

“Juju in football is not real, a lot of them are all psychological; if you’re not too advanced, you might believe there is some superstition in football,” he said.

“I’ve played the Ghana premier league, I’ve played international football and we hear these things but from my experience, it’s not real, they are lies,” he added.

“If you don’t train hard and rely on superstition or juju, you’ll end up embarrassing yourself, so, I think working hard on the pitch, personal training and all is better than focusing your energy believing in juju, it’s all psychology,” he ended.
