Kotoko trio Imoro Ibrahim, Sheriff Mohammed and Yusif Mubarik shortlisted for Zeepay Warrior of the Match
Asante Kotoko trio, Imoro Ibrahim, Sheriff Mohammed and Yusif Mubarik have been shortlisted for Zeepay Warrior of the Match following their impressive performances against Hearts of Oak.
Ibrahim, Mohammed and Mubarik played a key role as the Porcupine Warriors defeated the defending Premier League champions 1-0 last Sunday in Kumasi.
Imoro Ibrahim who won the prize after Kotoko’s last game against King Faisal gave another massive shift and was just unlucky not to have scored against Hearts.
Sheriff Mohammed, also known as ‘Mr. Versatile’ was nominated after a stupendous performance against the Phobians, after bossing and pocketing Salim Adams.
The 20-year-old moved to the defense following an injury to Maxwell Agyemang and did a good job to help Kotoko keep a clean sheet.
Yusif Mubarik was on top of his game after he showed leadership and subjected the Phobians to only two shots on target.
He made a goal-bound block from Obeng Jr’s shot in the second half to keep the score at 1-0.
The win extended Kotoko’s lead at the top of the league table to 52 points, eight points above second-placed Bechem United.
