MND Jawula calls for unity ahead of 2022 World Cup playoff against Nigeria

Renowned football administrator, Alhaji MND Jawula has called for unity ahead of Ghana’s 2022 World Cup playoff against Nigeria.

The Black Stars having booked a place in the playoff of the Mundial scheduled to be hosted in Qatar later this year will have to play their rivals, the Super Eagles for a place in the global showpiece.

The team has come under intense pressure and criticism following its poor performance at the just-ended 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] in Cameroon.

However, MND Jawula, who is a former Ghana Football Association [GFA] president believes when the country stays united, the Black Stars will fight to book a qualification in the Mundial.

“We need to stay united as a country ahead of the Nigeria game,” he said on GTV Sports Plus’ ‘Saving our Passion’ program on Thursday.

“This is Nigeria that we have been beating every time we play so they are more like our wives but no disrespect to them.

“I believe when we stay united, we will be able to beat Nigeria,” he added.

Ghana will host Nigeria at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 24 before travelling to Abuja on March on March 29 for the return encounter.

The Black Stars having missed out in the last edition of the World Cup in Russia in 2018 are aiming to return to the Mundial for the fourth time in their history.
