My players exhibited strong mentality against Medeama SC - Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum

Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum has lauded his players following their all-important win against Medeama SC on Sunday.

In the matchday 31 games, the Porcupine Warriors were hosted by the Yellow and Mauve at Akoon Park.

Kotoko having suffered a defeat in their last home game returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win to extend their lead on the league log.

Goals from Andrews Appau and Frank Etouga Mbella were enough as the Porcupine Warriors sealed all the three points.

Speaking after the game, the former WAFA gaffer lauded his players for showing a strong character against Medeama.

“They showed a strong mental character today, the game was played mentally, if you look at how we kept our shape defensively and offensively it was amazing,” Narteh Ogum said after the game.

“Discipline was part too, we played the entire second half with a man down so if all it was down to discipline and application of knowledge,” he added.

Asante Kotoko now sit on top with 59 points and will play away to AshantiGold SC on Thursday with kick off scheduled at 15:00GMT.
