Nigeria sack 48 players from camp ahead of WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship – Reports
Ghana’s opponent Nigeria have reportedly sack 48 players from camp due to age cheating ahead of WAFU Zone B U20 Championship to be staged in Niger May 7-20, 2022.
The Technical team of the Golden Eaglets caught these players who were engaged in age forgery.
Black Satellites will come up against Nigeria and Burkina Faso in the Group stage of the tournament.
After the draw was held in Niamey last Friday, Ghana’s National U20 side, who are the defending champions were paired with the Golden Eaglets and last edition’s finalists, the young stallions in Group A.
Host nation Niger are in Group B alongside Cote D’Ivoire, Benin and Togo.
Finalists from this tournament will represent WAFU Zone B at the 2023 CAF U-20 Tournament which will take place in Egypt from February 18 – March 12, 2023.
As part of preparations ahead of the competition coach Karim Zito’s lads were involved in friendly games – beating Tema Youth 2-1 and thrashing Golden Kicks FC 4-1 all at the Accra Sports Stadium.
