South Africa to play Morocco and Zimbabwe in 2023 Afcon qualifiers

South Africa was drawn alongside Morocco, Zimbabwe, and Liberia in the 2023 African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers for the event, which will be held in the Ivory Coast in May and June of next year.

South Africa was seeded in pot 2 during the draw for the Afcon qualifiers, which took place on Tuesday evening in Johannesburg, by Bafana Bafana great Lucas Radebe and former Ivory Coast and Chelsea attacker Salomon Kalou.

Hugo Broos’ men were assigned to Group K, and the competition began on May 30.

The group’s top two finishers advance to the 24-team competition.
