Spain-based Inaki Williams in dilemma over nationality switch

Information reaching footballghana is that Spain-based Ghanaian forward, Inaki Williams is in a dilemma over whether or not to switch nationality.

The player was born in Ghana but travelled to Spain with his parents at a very young age.

Having grown up in the European country, the Atletico Bilbao striker has already been capped by the various Spain national teams.

Last October, the forward disclosed that he feels more Spanish and does not believe it will be right to play for Ghana.

“I will not forget my roots, but as long as I feel like Basque, I am convinced that I will never go to the Ghana national team,” the Inaki Williams told British ‘Guardian’ in an interview.

With his future with the Spain national team looking bleak, the striker is now reportedly considering making a switch to play for Ghana.

Sources say he has already had talks with close friends but will only come to a conclusion on the decision in the summer when the 2021/22 football season ends in Spain.

Inaki Williams and his brother Nico Williams are both targeted by the Ghana FA whose officials have been working in the past year to get the best players to play for the Black Stars.
