Spanish-Ghanaian forward Inaki Williams sets enviable La Liga record
Spanish forward of Ghanaian roots, Inaki Williams has set a new La Liga record after becoming the first player in history to feature in 224 consecutive matches.
The player who has grown to become a key player for Atletico Bilbao after graduating through the club’s academy has been blessed so much that he is always fit.
Due to the lack of injuries since 2016, he has played in every single La Liga match of his club in the last six seasons.
In that run, Inaki Williams has made 224 La Liga games in a row without injury.
The talented forward remains a target of Ghana with officials of the FA reportedly working to convince him to play for the Black Stars.
While many believe he will be a good addition to bolster the Ghana national team, the player in the past has stressed that he feels more Spanish and believes it won’t be right to play for Black Stars.
Sources say there could be a change of mind before the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
