Striker Kelvin Yeboah has been misused at Genoa
Striker Kelvin Yeboah joined Genoa during the January transfer window from Austrian Bundesliga side Sturm Graz.
His move to the Italian Serie A was predicted to boost the Griffin and improve their attack for the season.
His first season with Genoa hasn’t gone to plan. He has played 15 games for Genoa in the Serie A and is yet to score but he has assisted one goal.
The 22-year-old striker is the victim of a tactical misunderstanding, often being deployed as a winger or even playmaker, he is instead a center forward or at most a second striker. One, in short, who lives inside the opponent’s penalty area and not on the edge of it.
Kelvin Yeboah scored 17 goals in 34 appearances for Austrian Bundesliga side Sturm Graz playing mainly as a striker.
Born in Accra, Kelvin Yeboah grew up in Italy and is eligible to represent both countries at the international level though he is yet to be capped.
