UK-based Ghanaian midfielder Brendan Wiredu wins PFA Community Award in Colchester

UK- born midfielder of Ghanaian descent, Brendan Nana Akwasi Sarpong Wiredu has won a PFA Community Award in Colchester, footballghana can report.

The top award is given to the player who has played a leading role in the club’s efforts-engaging with supporters and young people in the local area.

After careful consideration by the Colchester Community, the Ghanaian central midfielder has won the 2022 Colchester PFA Community Award.

Sharing his thoughts on the award, the player who was delighted said he is humbled to be selected by the community.

“Humbled to have been awarded the PFA Community Champion Award,” he said after the award was given to him prior to the English League Two game against Stevenage on Saturday.

This season, Brendan Wiredu has featured in 33 games for Colchester City in League 2. The midfielder has assisted three goals and is seen as a key player for the team.
