VIDEO: Black Maidens hold training session ahead of Guinea clash
The Black Maidens of Ghana will held their first training session on Thursday ahead of FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Guinea.
Twenty-four (24) players and their Technical handlers led by Baba Nuhu touched down in Elmina on Tuesday evening to being preparations for the crucial qualifier on Saturday.
The team will also train later on Friday at the Cape Coast stadium before facing Guinea at the same venue.
The Black Maidens will go into the fixture with a slight advantage after securing a 3-1 win in Conakry a fortnight ago.
Algerian referee Lamia Atman will be the centre referee for the return leg encounter between Ghana and Guinea.
Referee Lamia will be assisted by Asma Feriel Ouahab – Algeria (Assistant I), Abra Sitsofe Agbedanou – Togo (Assistant II) and Ghada Mehat – Algeria (Fourth Official).
Virginia Mendes Da Cruz from Guinea Bissau will work as the Match Commissioner with COVID-19 responsibilities given to Dr. Christiana Baah from Ghana.
The aggregate winner will pick one of Africa’s three slots in the India 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup later in October.
The Black Maidens are chasing a record 7th successive appearance at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
