Castro, Janet Bandu’s disappearance: Ghanaians mark 7years

Ghanaian social media is today, July 6 celebrating Ghanaian musician, Theophilus Tagoe affectionately called Castro in the music circle following his disappearance 7years ago.

The Takoradi born artiste disappeared on July 6, 2014 together with Miss Janet Bandu at the Ada Estuary while on holiday with the Gyan brothers and friends.
The two were reported to have drowned while on a jet ski at the Ada Estuary in the Greater Accra Region.
All effort to find the “Odo pa” hit maker and her partner or even their remains had proved futile as many, including his bossom friend Ghanaian footballer, Asamoah Gyan believes they were no more.
Castro, Janet Badu to be declared legally dead
Myjoyonline report per the laws Ghana, Castro who also goes by the name ‘destroyer” and his partner would be legally declared dead after seven years of disappearance.
“According to The Evidence Act of 1975, Section 33, a person can only be declared legally dead after seven years by a court, where the person in question has not been seen or heard from in seven years despite diligent and persistent efforts to find him” it reported.
Social media remembers Castro
To remember and celebrate his contribution to Ghana music, social media users including colleagues in the entertainment industry have taken to the platform to celebrate him.
While some were of the believe that he was still alive and would return, others believe he was no more and wish him well in the land of the dead. Others also shares their favourite among his numerous hit songs.

Castro’s music career
The celebrated Ghanaian musician, Castro was born in 1982 in Takoradi in the Western Region and began his music career as early as age 10. He however, shot to fame in 2003 with his hit track “Sradinam” and he had since been a household name.
The Tofee composer has a lot of songs to his credit and had won several awards in his over 10years music career including Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Hiplife Song of the Year, in 2006 , Toffee, VGMA Hiplife Album of the Year, 2006, Toffee, Best Hiplife Song of the Year, 2011, African Girls and VGMA Highlife Song of the Year,2014, Odo Pa.
He also featured on several song notably, Sarkodie’s Adonai and many others.
