I wonder who gets pregnant for ghost and give birth to these ghosts – NPP’s Elvis Botah on ghost names in A-G’s report

Vida Essel-LampteyThe immediate past Deputy National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Elvis Banoemuleng Botah has reacted to report of ghost names on the payrolls of the various government institutions in the country.
Ghost names on payroll – Auditor General’s Report 2021
The 2021 Auditor General’s Report has revealed a whopping ₵2million plus was paid to retirees, dead persons or resigned staff by some government ministries
At the Ministry of Finance for instance the report said a total of GH¢1,112,896.00 were paid to non staffs of the institution for period of two years.
Personal files of the said non staff, three of them and identified as Allotey Eamon James, Kwakye Nana Yaw Asiedu and Adam Habibu with staff ID numbers TAMF1902, TAMF1906 and TAMF0016 respectively could not be trace on the payroll of the Ministry.
“We noted that, three persons were paid a total of GH¢1,112,895.96 as salaries for the period January 2020 to December 2021, but we could not trace their personal files and names on the nominal roll of the Ministry,” the Auditor General Report 2021 reads.
Other Ministries mentioned in the development are the Ministry of Education, Health, Interior, Transport, Attorney General and Justice.
Elvis Botah reaction to ghost names
Reacting to the development, Mr Botah said “KOD I must say we have a worrying social poison as a nation when it come to the issues this ghost names and in some cases unwarranted payment and I have always wondered who really get pregnant for this ghost and give birth to ghost and who employed the ghost and with whose taxes are the ghost paid.
“If we have ghost and we pay them with the taxes paid by ghost I have no problem but we don’t have ghost and pay them with the taxes of human beings when we are yet to join them in the land of death is my source of worry,” he added.
