Here’s why hip-hop artiste has been arrested
Ghanaian hip-hop and hiplife musician Medikal is in police grips after brandishing a gun on social media.
Two weeks ago, Ghanafuo.com captured the “Omo Ada” hitmaker flashing a newly acquired American gun on social media.
The multiple award-winning rapper, who is known for living a flashy lifestyle on social media, went the extra mile to get full protection for his life.
His newly acquired pistol is a popular American brand, and it’s the famous Ruger American Pistol.
The Ruger American Pistol is a polymer-framed, semi-automatic pistol introduced by Ruger in December 2015. The pistol uses a pre-tensioned striker firing system and is chambered in 9mm Luger and .45 ACP, according to Wikipedia. It costs $579 (equivalent to GHC3,400).
However, multiple media reports suggest that he has been picked up by the police for the act.
Reports say he was arrested for brandishing a gun on social media and the case is yet to be processed in court on October 22, 2021.
Before landing himself behind bars, Medikal showed massive support behind embattled dancehall musician Shatta Wale.
The rapper and his wife Fella Makafui were present in court today before Shatta Wale and three others were remanded into police custody for two weeks.
The rapper hasn’t posted on social media since the news of his arrest.
