I AM INSPIRED BY SHATTA WALE-K.K FOSU
Ghanaian highlife legend and songwriter Kaakyire Kwame Fosu who has gained showbiz name as KK Fosu has said that African dancehall King and ghanaian music heavyweight Shatta Wale is his biggest inspiration.
Known for classic hits like ‘suudwe’, ‘adwendwen’ and ‘anadwo y3de’, the highlife legend in an interview at adom fm said “Shatta wale is an inspiration to me.I have a big picture of his in my bathroom. Anytime I take a shower and raise my head to see the picture, I get inspired because I started with him and I’m glad he’s made it and is still making it”.
Shatta Wale is one of the only few music icons in Ghana to have gone into a musical hiatus and returned to the top once more. The dancehall act after his major hit ‘bandana’ went into exile for over 10years and returned with arguably his biggest ever released song ‘dancehall king’.This song cemented his return and his continuous release of great hits has made him one of the African heavyweights and one of the few to be featured by world music star beyonce.
Shatta Wale sighted the video of KK Fosu talking about him and replied “When a legend speaks, listen to wisdom.Thank you Legend Kk Fosu.
Many other industry people have said that looking at how inspiring the story of Shatta wale is, Shatta and some other Ghanaian musicians should be studied on schools.
