Award winning Nigerian journalist and founder of Afrobeats intelligence,Joey Akan has entreated Ghanaians to learn more on how distribution and licensing deals with major international labels works.
This comes after young Ghanaian singer and songwriter Black Sheriff is rumored to have signed a deal with Empire music group.The clauses of the deal has sparked distasteful comments from Ghanaians as its believed the young protege signed off a deal that will see him take home a pittance of 15,000 dollars for a year and 86 dollars for a month.
The award winning Nigerian journalist however took to his Twitter social media handle to say that much focus should be employed to teach Ghanaians how distribution and licensing deals work..He went on to say statements by netizens that Black Sheriff signed his life off to the label is funny.His post on Twitter is below.
Surprisingly a member of Black Sheriff’s old management in an interview with journalist Ameyaw Debrah denied that his entity is responsible for the leaks of the contract.
