Akufo-Addo appoints Obour Acting MD of GhanaPost

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed the Former President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Bice Osei-Kuffour (Obour) as the new Managing Director of Ghana Post.

3news.com report  sighted by GhanaPlus.com said sources within the government of Ghana Postal Services Corporation confirmed the news.

Affectionately called Obour in the music circles, Mr Osei-Kuffour will work in an acting capacity until his appointment is regularize in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Companies Act and the company’s regulation.

Obour, replaces Mr James Kwofie, a seasoned corporate executive with over 20 years experience in general management, human resource management and business consulting across multinational FMCG’s and global courier sector.

Mr Kwofie stepped down on October 31 following his appointment as a board member of the Universal Postal Union due to his laudable performance at Ghana Post .

Obour and NPP

Obour, a Ghanaian highlife musician announced his membership of the New Patriotic Party shortly after his tenure at MUSIGA and contested the parliamentary primaries for Asante Akyem South Constituency of the party ahead of the 2020 general elections, subsequently.

The Konkotiba hit maker, however lost to the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mr Kwaku Asante Boateng.
