Anaji Christ the King Methodist Preparatory School Block dedicated and consecrated
The Most Reverend Dr Paul Kwabena Boafo, the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana, has called on teachers to help correct the wrongs in society by turning out sincere and Godly individuals.
He said, “now almost every wrong seemed to be accepted by society…wickedness, callousness, insincerity, selfishness, love for money, no respect for one another let alone the elderly…in fact, the craziness of the world is worrying indeed and that is why the Bible continue to enjoin us not to conform to the things of the world.”
“As Methodist education unit, our focus is to raise men and women with morals dedicated to excellence and service to humanity and as teachers, I urge you to understand this very important tenet of our education system and deliver accordingly”.
The Most Reverend Boafo said this when he dedicated a three-story school block with ancillary facilities for the Anaji Christ the King Methodist Preparatory to promote teaching and learning in a serene atmosphere
.
He said secular education must shape the minds and status of the learner to glorify God and that was the commitment as a mission school collaborating with state to provide quality education.
The Most Reverend Boafo, therefore, prayed that the schools added value to the people under their care to produce a responsible adult population.
Madam Catherine Biney, the EKMA Municipality Director of Education, noted how the private sector was contributing to employment as well as the production of human resources for the functioning of the State.
He said Methodist Schools and for that matter private schools had also advanced access, equity and quality in education and encouraged stakeholders to continue to support the government to deliver.
The Very Reverend Isaac Kwame Ghartey, the Superintendent Minister, said the school had made significant progress in the past twenty years.
The now Christ the King Methodist Preparatory School was purchased from Madam Christiana Ghartey in 2002 when she decided to close her Royal Gem School complex due to low enrolment and non-payment of school fees.
After all, conditions were met and the change over took place, the 70 students who became the founding members have now multiplied to over 700.
Reverend Ghartey said the strategic vision was to see the school as the most preferred brand in the Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolis and beyond.
