Apostle Opoku Onyinah slams CNN, dares them to provide proof Anti- LGBTQI+ coalition took money from any foreign entity

Former Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, and Board Chair of the Coalition of  Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values in Ghana, Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah has debunked CNN report that the organization received financial support from international institutions to run its activities.

Exclusive: Millions in Western aid flowed to churches in Ghana despite years of campaigning against LGBTQI+ rights

The CNN on December 13, 2022 reported “exclusive CNN investigation has found that some Western governments who pledged to support LGBTQI+ rights have also funded supporters of a controversial bill in Ghana that could introduce harsh sentences for advocating for sexual and gender minorities’ rights”.

The publication titled “Exclusive: Millions in Western aid flowed to churches in Ghana despite years of campaigning against LGBTQI+ rights” said some in the five years up to 2021, at least $5 million in aid from Europe and the US went to projects run by or benefiting churches in Ghana whose leaders have backed this bill and have a long track-record of Anti-LGBTQI+ statements and activities.

“There is no indication the funding identified went to any explicitly Anti-LGBTQI+ activities. However, these religious organizations are now pushing for the anti-LGBTQI+ bill, introduced last year and officially known as the Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, to be made law,” the publication further stated.

He described the publication as one hundred per cent  false, a disgrace and a serious dint on the reputation of the multinational cable news channel.

“If this is what the press does then it is very very serious because I am the Chairman of the governing body of the National Coalition of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values, we have not even received a pesewa from any institution outside Ghana,” the celebrated man of God said.

He explained its programmes are funded by contributions from members of the coalition.

“Not a pesewa so that I will say a dollar from anywhere so I don’t know why the CNN is saying that,” he empathized.

“If it is in connection with what I call the coalition then it is 100% not 99.9%, it is 100% false and I am wondering why a reputable and a respectable TV like CNN should do something that is completely false. I mean it is a disgrace. Not a dollar from any institution outside so I wonder why they should have that”.

“….They themselves know they are lying. CNN should prove what they are saying. They should bring a proof of what they are saying. Am saying that it is a 100% lies. May be if they are aware because if they are promoting LBGTQ+ agenda and they are promoting it with money then maybe they are saying that because of what they are doing but no institutions have given us money,” Apostle Opoku Onyinah said.
