The Apowa to Adwoa road in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region is one of the most deplorable roads in the region.

The road is in a very bad shape which makes it somehow unmotorable but totally becomes a dead-end whenever the rain pours as it turns to a mini river.

Nana Yaw Kumi of Skyy Power 93.5FM spoke to some drivers concerning the state of the road. Speaking to them, they indicated their major concern in the district at this moment is the road which is a problem to them, their business and residents as well.

Also, they revealed the normal fare from Apowa to Adwoa which is GHS2 inflates to GHS5 whenever it rains due to the risk they take themselves and vehicles through just to transport passengers to their destination.

They also said due to the nature of the road, their vehicles and pockets have to suffer the consequences, as they visit mechanics on a weekly basis.

A driver said,” The Government has made several promises to fix the road and for the past few years now there has been nothing done on the road to prove their words ”

“We are not going to vote in the next elections because the Government is playing with our minds and this will continue until our roads are fixed”

However, the council’s attention has been drawn to the road but all to no avail as nothing has yet been done.
