The mortal remains of Ghana International, Christian Atsu Twasam has arrived in Ghana.

His body arrived via Turkish airline on Saturday, February 18, evening.

Renowned Sport Journalist, Benjamin Willie Graham who shared the news in a Facebook post sighted by GhanaPlus.com said “the mortal remains of former Black stars player, Christian Atsu has arrived home via Turkish Airlines.. Very Sad!! Hmmmm.

Atsu found dead

Christian Atsu was reported found dead on Saturday, February 18, 12 days after he was trapped under rabbles in the massive earthquake which hit Turkey on Monday February 6.

His Agent, Nana Sechere who made known the sad news in twitter post sighted by GhanaPlus.com said the player’s body was recovered this morning.

He said “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce to all well-wishers that sadly Christian Atsu’s body was recovered this morning”.

The news comes in 21day after the deadly earthquake which has claimed thousands of lives in Turkey and Syria.

Nana Sechere extended his deepest condolences to the family of the celebrated player and appreciation to all for the support and prayers for the player while trapped under the collapse 11 storey facility in Turkey.

“My deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their prayers and support”

He also called for privacy for family during this difficult face of the life.

“I ask that whilst we make the necessary arrangements, that everyone would please respect the privacy of the family during this very difficult time”.

Ghana’s top star and Former Chelsea and Newcastle United star, Christian Atsu Twasam affectionately called Atsu was on Monday February 6, reported trapped together with several following an earthquake which hit Turkey and Syria.

A 11 storey facility in which the player was resident in the nine floor in Antakya, Hatay collapsed together with hundreds of others living dozens trapped.

The 31 year old joined the Turkish Süper Lig club Hatayspor on September last year on an initial one-year contract with option for a further year.

On Sunday, February 5, prior to the disaster, Atsu opened his scoring account in the 1 win defeat against Kasimpasa.

The earthquake recorded in southern Turkey and northern Syria have killed more than 40,000 people. storm.
