Commercial drivers block road as W/R Regional Minister tours Amenfi Districts
Commercial Drivers within the Amenfi East, Central and West are not working today till Saturday over the deplorable nature of the Asankragwa to Bordie road.
Passengers who are patronising the services of these drivers are stranded. No car is moving from Tarkwa, Bogoso, Bordie and Manso to Asankragwa and Vise Versa.
Drivers have threatened to block the Road as Western Regional Regional Minister tours the 3 Amenfi Districts from Thursday, July 21 to Saturday.
Some of the drivers who spoke to Skyy News said even though the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Amenfi East, Mr Fredrick Korankye has pleaded for them to resume their services, they will not heed it.
They claimed to fix the road is long overdue and they are tired of empty promises hence the action they are taking today.
A driver said they make no profit from their business because, at the end of the day’s work, they spend a lot on servicing their vehicles and the deplorable nature of the road also consumes too much fuel.
Also, they have petitioned the MCEs of Amenfi East, West and Central on many occasions but are yet to see any action on the road.
