EKMA records Ghs14.9M in revenue in first half of 2023 – Skyy Power FM

The Municipal Chief Executive of the Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly says they have recorded Fourteen Million Nine Hundred Twenty-Three Thousand Six Hundred and Four Ghana Cedis Twenty Ghana Pesewas (GH₵14,923,604.20) as of 30th June 2023.

The MCE, Mr Kojo Acquah speaking at the 2nd ordinary meeting of the 4th session of EKMA said the total budgeted revenue for the year was Forty-Five Million Eight Hundred and Twenty-Nine Thousand One Hundred and Ninety-Six Ghana Cedis Twenty-Eight Ghana Pesewas (GH₵45,829,196.28).

Also, the Internally Generated Fund (IGF) collected during the period under review was One Million and Ninety-Seven Thousand and Forty-One Ghana Cedis, FiftyThree Ghana Pesewas (GH₵1,097,041.53). This amount represents 24.80% of the collection rate of IGF revenue projection of Four Million Four Hundred and Twenty-Four Thousand Three Hundred and Eighty-One Ghana Cedis, FiftyNine Ghana Pesewas (GH₵4,424,381.59).

The MCE says they have improved infrastructure, which is inextricably linked to enhancing the quality of life in the Municipality.

Mr Kojo Acquah said It is also worth noting that the viability of private sector investments hinges on a robust and functional
infrastructure.

In view of this, the Assembly embarked on a number of infrastructural developments during the period under review.

He stated, “Construction of 1300m long 4.5m x 1.5m Storm Drain from Anaji Choice Mart to I-Adu.
Construction of 3 Cell 3m x 2.5m Box Culvert at Effia and 2 Cell 3m x 2.5m Box Culvert at Bankyease, and 150m long Storm Drain. Surfacing Dressing of Effia Town Roads (0.7km), Construction of 1 no. 3m x 2m
x 12m Long Double Culvert Approach Filling Works at SSNIT Down and Anaji SSNIT Flats Loop Road (0.70km). Construction of Two (2) Storey and Fifty-Seven (57) Unit Lockable Shops, as well as Four (4) Offices at Kwesimintsim, Paving of Kwesimintsim Lorry Station.”

“It is worthy to indicate that, the second-year projects under the Ghana Secondary Cities
Support Program (GSCSP) have all been practically completed, with the exception of
the road markings on the Whindo-Assakae Road,” he added.
