Ekuase residents assured problems in community will soon be solved – Skyy Power FM

Residents of Ekuase and its environs are being assured that things are being put in place to solve the problems in the community.

The assembly member of the electoral area, Honourable Amoako Mensah explained to Naomi Afriyie Nyanor on the Jolly Breakfast Show that, he is doing his best in collaboration with the city authorities and the member of parliament, Lawyer Andrew Egyapa Mercer to solve the problems, especially the public toilet for the people of Ngyinambowa bakam, “anytime I go there I see that it’s their major concern. Imagine that you have the urge ease yourself and you have nowhere to go”, he said.

According to him, there is one public toilet that serves the people but due to its location, only the young people can get access to it, “though there is another public toilet there but that one, only the young ladies and the young men can cross and go. An older person or a child can not cross”, he explained.

He therefore assured the residents to exercise patience because from this month, July to August, contractors will be seen on site working, “things are in place and I’m sure that it won’t be long. By this month, July to the first week of August, the people will witness the construction”.

Responding to the recent desilting exercise organized by the aspiring member of parliament for the NDC, Lawyer Armah Blay, Hon. Amoako Mensah made it known that he has never said it anywhere that he is not in support of the work done. However, it is the means through which the work was done that he is not in support of, “I want to make it clear that I haven’t said it anywhere that the work they came to do, I’m not in support of what Lawyer Armah Blay came to do. It’s the process they went through that I’m not in support of. For me it is a good thing because it aims at supporting the whole community since I cannot do everything”, he clarified.

He added that, even though Lawyer Blay Armah has contributed in solving the problem, he is also doing his best to continue with the help of the member of parliament for the Sekondi Constituency, lawyer Andrew Egyapa Mercer, “we’ve started three days ago and from where the bridge is, we have gotten to a place at Essaman called Star Bar. We were to continue today but the rain stopped us”, Honourable Amoako Mensah said.
