Former NPP MP descends low to contest in polling station elections

Shama New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives were amazed when they had information that their former MP Mr Ato Panford, is one of the candidates contesting as the polling station chairman for the Essawah electoral area in Inchaban.

They can’t fathom why the MP has abandoned his decision to contest as the Regional Chairman and has descended to a basic level of the party.

Mr Panford was a member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana for the Shama Constituency in the Western Region.

Building up to the 2020 parliamentary elections, the NPP organized its parliamentary primaries to elect a candidate to represent the party. Ato Panford participated but lost to his contender Lawyer Samuel Erickson Abakah who later won in the general elections.
