“I can revive the Komenda sugar factory if given the mandate. That factory will start producing sugar within 16 months (considering planting and harvesting of sugarcane). The factory needs about 200,000 tons of sugarcane (pa) to operate at full capacity. We can do it,” his tweet reads.

Komenda Sugar Factory
The Komenda Sugar Factory, a $35 million project funded with an Indian EXIM Bank facility and inaugurated by the former President John Dramani Mahama has been left to rot since 2016.
The factory at the time of it’s inaugurate was estimated to employ some 7,300 people along the value chain, boosting employment prospects in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem municipality.
However, five years down the lane, the facility is yet to be put to use neither had it seen any maintenance.
