Jomoro holds election on Dec 16, aspirant promises development

In the Western Region’s Jomaro Constituency, Mr Paul Hopeson Kwaw, a parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has organised his supporters to cast a sizable ballot in favour of him leading the party in the region’s general elections in 2024.

He urged the delegates to support him in his bid to be the constituency’s parliamentary candidate and declared that should he be approved to lead the party and later elected as a Member of Parliament (MP), he would use his position to advocate for development initiatives that would benefit the people of Jomoro.

After undergoing screening and getting approved to compete in the NPP orphan constituency primary in Jomoro, he spoke to the Ghana News Agency during an interview in Takoradi.

According to Mr Kwaw, Jomoro lagged in terms of development, saying the situation needed a dynamic leader who had international connections:

He said: “As a key party member of the United States branch of the NPP and a third-time parliamentary aspirant, I am endowed with rich experience to bring to bear the development needs of the people of Jomoro”

In an attempt to revitalise the shuttered tyre factory founded by Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah in Bonsa, he claimed to have brought in a few foreign investors to invest in a 200-acre rubber plantation farm.

To enable the young people to take advantage of the developing industries in the region, Mr. Kwaw stated that providing training in skill development will also be high on his agenda.

Along with Mr. Kwame Evonla Whajah and Mr. Paul Essien, a former Jomoro MP, he is running in the Jomoro primary.
