Learn a skill and start your own business – Sekondi-Takoradi MCE advises youth – Skyy Power FM



The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Sekondi-Takoradi, Mr Abdul Issah Mumin is advising youth to learn a skill and also venture into entrepreneurship.

Speaking to Skyy News at the sidelines of the 50th-anniversary celebration launch of Kwansa Auto on Thursday, March 30, the MCE advised the youth not to depend on the government for employment but learn and skill and become their bosses in future.

According to him, the government has limited employment slots and it will be wholesome for the youth to learn a skill and start their business which is the best.

He said, “There are not enough opportunities in the government sector when it comes to employment that is why I am giving this advice to the youth.”

“When you learn a skill and venture into entrepreneurship, you become independent, successful when you are determined and also become an avenue where others can be employed which is very good for the economy.”

He said the way to go in this 21st century is for every youth to be skilful that is why the government is investing much in the TVET sector.

“Taking Germany for example, one of the reasons they’re a successful nation is because of their skill base education.”
