National prayers should be channelled to leaders to have change of mind

Dr Josiah Kowffie, a life counsellor and educationist speaking on the Jolly Breakfast Show on Skyy Power 93.5FM said national prayers should be channelled to leaders to have a change in heart.

This comes after the Executive Council of the Church of Pentecost (COP) declared a three-day fasting and prayer session for all members across the country, beginning Thursday, November 10.

In a circular sighted by the media dated Saturday, November 5 to all assemblies of the church, members are requested “to pray and intercede for the nation and the global community”.

“We should also pray for wisdom for our leaders to find immediate solutions to these challenges,” the circular signed by Chairman of COP Apostle Eric Nyamekye requested.

Dr Kowfie speaking on this decision said the church has taken the right path to intercede for the country because prayers are the answer to all questions and looking at the state of the country, indeed prayers are needed.

However, he believes the leaders do not priotise what is to be priotised in the country and national prayers should be directed to them so they have a change of mind.

He said, “For example, our education should be reviewed and priority should be given to some courses, Ghana has a vast land for agriculture and the Agriculture course in our Senior High School must be priotised to train more students to take up this opportunity, but it is not so.”
