NPP parliamentary primaries heating up as aspirants begin nomination filing

The governing New Patriotic Party has on Wednesday, December 20 opened nominations for persons seeking to represent the party within constituencies with sitting members of parliament.

The party has scheduled January 27, 2024, for parliamentary primaries in constituencies with sitting MPs.

In the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, two candidates have already picked forms to contest in the upcoming primaries.

Fredrick Kakraba Sam has picked nomination forms to contest for the Takoradi Constituency seat against the incumbent MP, Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah.

He said, “I’m a man of the people here to redeem the people of the Takoradi, as you can see, things are not really in good shape and I’m here to fix them.”

Benjamin Paa Kwesi Moses has also picked forms to contest in the Sekondi constituency against the incumbent MP, Andrew Agyapa Mercer.

He said, “There is disunity in the NPP party in Sekondi, the incumbent MP has sidelined many of this party members and he is trying to conquer with disunity, I will change that. I will bring development to Sekondi and build the capacity of the youth for future opportunities.”
