Police arrest popular Tadi businessman Dan To Be, one other for robbery

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a popular businessman in Takoradi, Dan To Be and one other for allegedly robbing a mining company in Bogoso in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality of the Western Region.

According to a police report, Mr Daniel Ofori, A.K.A Dan To Be was in the company of six others for the operation but the police managed to arrest two (2) of them, whilst the four (4) others are currently on the run.

A statement released by the Ghana Police on their official Facebook page revealed that Daniel Ofori was arrested whilst waiting for his gang to return with the booty in his Toyota Hilux pickup with registration No. GN 3020-17.

Police Statement:

The Police, on 6th September 2023, arrested two robbery suspects for attacking a mining company at Bogoso in the Western Region.

The suspects, Derrick Kwabena and Daniel Ofori alias Denotobe, in the company of six others currently on the run, attacked the mining company and some Police Officers on duty at the site.

The Police responded and succeeded in arresting Derrick Kwabena on the spot while the other accomplices escaped.

Further investigation led to the arrest of suspect Daniel Ofori, who was in a waiting Toyota Hilux pickup vehicle for the rest of the suspects and the booty.

Items retrieved from the suspects include a quantity of gold concentrate in a fertilizer sack, one pistol, one cutlass, five BB cartridges, and one Toyota Hilux pickup with registration No. GN 3020-17, and some talisman.

The two suspects are in lawful custody while efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspects to face justice.
