Pregnant woman, husband and children burnt beyond recognition in fire outbreak

Vida Essel-LampteyA pregnant woman together with her husband and two children have perished in a fire outbreak at Manso Aponapon in the Amansie South district of the Ashanti region.
The woman, her husband and their children aged nine (9) and five(years) 3news.com report were burnt beyond recognition when the fire gutted their resident at about 11PM Saturday, April 10 night.
The report added four other tenants suffered various degrees of injuries at the time of the fire and were currently receiving treatment St Martin’s hospital in Agroyesum.
Speaking to 3news.com, the Amansie South Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization, (NADMO), Mr Edward Oduro Nsiah said he received a distress call at about 12am Sunday, April 11 about the fire and he immediately called fire service for intervention.
“The fire started around 11:30pm but I received a call around 12am. I immediately reached out to fire service but before they got to the scene, the family of four had already been burnt beyond recognition. The fire fighters however, managed to douse the flame saving four other tenants in the compound house,” he was reported to have said.
The bodies have been deposited at St Martin’s hospital at Agroyesum, however, the Fire Service preliminary investigation suggest the fire was caused by an electrical fault.
