The Western South Manager of the Cocoa Health and Extension Division (CHED) of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Mr Samuel Ankamah, has advised schoolchildren to consume more cocoa products to enhance their cognitive skills and excel in their academic pursuits.
He said cocoa products were food items that boosted the health status of people to function well.
Mr Ankamah gave the advice when he presented 200 bars of chocolates to school children at the Bompieso Junior High School in the Western Region.
He said Bompieso was chosen to benefit from the National Chocolate Day celebrations because the National Best Cocoa Farmer, Nana Kwadwo Amoako was from the town.
He reminded the school children that cocoa farming was a lucrative venture and advised them to go into farming in future.
Mr Ankamah advised the school children to learn hard and eschew immoral practices and other forms of anti-social behaviour to become responsible citizens in the future.
The headmaster of the school Mr Joseph Mensah thanked COCOBOD for selecting the school to enjoy the package.
He also advised the school children to take their lessons seriously.
