A female police officer has been crushed to death on the Kasao-Apam highway in the Central Region.
29-year-old Comfort Freby according to reports was hit by a speeding Toyota Vehicle at a police checkpoint in the early hours of Tuesday, February, 1.
According to the police, the driver of the vehicle with registration number GS 4746-20 failed to stop when he got to the checkpoint, therefore, ran into the deceased killing her on the spot.
The officers of the Gomoa Dominase District Police Command are saddened by the news of their colleague
According to them, the barrier, they say, was established just last week after a series of robbery cases were recorded on the said highway.
The Central Region Police Command have also visited the home of the deceased to commiserate with the family.
