The Member of Parliament for the Ningo Prampram Constituency, Mr Samuel Nartey George has urged the #FixTheCountry Campaigners to direct their anger and frustration about poor roads in the country to the Minister of Roads and Transport, Mr Kwasi Amoako-Attah instead of Members of Parliament.

According to him, his role as MP as far as road projects were concern only ends with lobbing adding that constructing of the roads was the job of the Minister of Road.

Mr Sam George said he had lobbied and if that hadn’t been provided that was the failure of the minister and must be held responsible.

“Asking an MP to get roads fixed? For real? The #NameAndShame campaign must be backed by basic knowledge. My job is to lobby but you have a Minister for Roads & Highways. If you have any bile, spit it at him for that is his job. I have lobbied. He has failed. Hold him responsible,” Mr Sam George’s twitter post sighted by GhanaPlus.com reads.

#NameAndShame

The Ningo Prampram MP’s comment was in reaction to the #NameAndShame campaign adopted by organisers of #TheFixCountry campaigners on Friday, May 7 to name and shame persons in authority who had neglected their responsibilities and others who had  failed to live up to the promises they made to the Ghanaian voter during the elections.

Reacting to the campaign, Mr Nettey shared pictures of engagement he had had with the Road Minister in an attempts to lobby for roads to be constructed in his constituency.

He captioned the photos “Photos from as far back as June 2017 when the Minister of Roads was barely 3 months in office. I brought him to inspect the roads in the Ningo-Prampram. I have brought him 5 times in 4 years to answer questions in Parliament. The last being in May 2020. #Accountability”
