The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) inaugurated its 9th Assembly on Monday, February 12.
Present at the event were the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Abdul Issah Mumin, Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company Limited, Mr Clifford Braimah who was representing the president, Assembly members, Unit Committee members, government appointees and staff of STMA.
The MCE of STMA, Mr Abdul Issah Mumin speaking at the inauguration called on assembly members to be disciplined in line to execute their duties.
He told Assembly members to remember that their work is sacrificial and that they must do their best not to bring the name of the assembly in disrepute when executing their duties.
He also ensured that the capacity of assembly members would be built to ensure good local governance.
“We will build the capacity of assembly members, by organising workshops and training sessions for them to be well vested in the field of work and execute their work diligently.”
The managing director of the Ghana Water Company Limited, Mr Clifford Braimah who was representing the president stressed the continuous building of capacity of assembly members.
