TCSPP seek to strengthen the vibrant arts and culture landscape in the city of Sekondi-Takoradi & Palermo

The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) Mr Abdul Issah Mumin says the two cities of Sekondi-Takoradi and Palermo have jointly resolved to share knowledge and promote culture, artistic and social economic relationship in both cities.

Speaking at the Twin-cities in sustainable partnership project (TCSPP) workshop on good practices in the management of cultural heritage at the Bisa Abrewa Meseum today, Mr Mummin said that the European Union funded project, seek to Valarie the vibrant arts and culture landscape in the cities of Sekondi-Takoradi and Palermo Municipality.

The propossed activities to be implemented under the culture sensitive and inclusive urban strategy will contribute to addressing promotion of culture, artistic, social and economic relations between the two cities.

He added that this will help market the Westside Carnival Festival in Takoradi, Yesu Asor in Sekondi and the Kundum celebration including others.

He said, “These and others will continue to make Sekondi-Takoradi the number tourist destination in Ghana… As part of the implementation of the (TCSPP), transnational exchange visit have been planned for stakeholders in Sekondi-Takoradi and Palermo to exchange expertise in the organisation and celebration of cultural festival in both cities.”
