Vida Essel-LampteyThree persons including the driver and his mate were reportedly killed after a diesel tanker exploded at Onyinanufo near Wioso in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region.
The disaster occurred on Monday, May 24 when the speeding tanker collided with a passenger vehicle in the relatively small town.
Eye witnesses say the diesel carrier caught fire instantly and overturned.
The fire swept through the community of about 400 to 500 inhabitants, destroying most of the houses they live in.
As a result, many of them have been rendered homeless.
TV3’s Benjamin Audio reported on News 360 that the residents’ major worry is where they will sleep in the evening.
