TTU Vice-Chancellor says antidote to unemployment is massive investment in TVET



The Vice-Chancellor of Takoradi Technical University, Professor Rev. John Eshun says the country’s antidote to unemployment and poverty is a massive investment in technical and vocational training.

According to him, technical and vocational training needs more attention, since it creates instant jobs for the youth after training.

Professor Rev John Eshun said this in a statement, as a special guest at the 30th-anniversary celebration of Daboase Senior Technical High School at Daboase in the Wassa East district of the Western Region.

He added, that Takoradi Technical University is going to adopt all the senior high technical schools in the Western Region and support them to produce quality skilled and technical personnel for the University

Western Regional Minister Hon Kobby Okyere Darko for his part commended Daboase Senior High Technical School for ranking 5th best senior high technical school in the region and also among the best 25 senior high technical schools in Ghana despite their infrastructural challenges.

Headmistress of the Daboase Senior High Technical School Mrs Irene Rebecca Ampao lamented the school’s inadequate infrastructural facilities and called for support.
