Wa: Body of suspected kidnapped security guard found in shallow grave

A body suspected to be that of security guard reported to have been attacked and kidnapped at a carpentry shop along the Wa Technical Institute road few days ago has been discovered in a shallow grave.

A Facebook post made by the Ghana Police Service and sighted by GhanaPlus.com said the body was discovered by a Special Purpose Police Intelligence and Investigation teams at  Bamahu, a suburb of Wa in the Upper West Region of Ghana on Sunday September 18.

“The body was subsequently exhumed and conveyed to the Regional Hospital, Wa for autopsy and investigation,” the Ghana Police Service said.

The statement added the body has since been identified by the family of the deceased as Seidu Baga.

49year old security man reported missing at Wa

Seidu Baga, 49-year-old was reported missing on Friday September 16.

His disappearance brings to nine (9), the number of missing and kidnapping cases reported in the Municipality in recent times at of which five(5) and have been found dead.

The Ghana Police Service has assured, the service will work with the community to bring the culprit to book.

“We wish to assure residents of the Wa Municipality and its environs that the special intelligence and investigation teams will continue to work around the clock with assistance from the affected communities to bring the perpetrators to face justice.

Operations and combat teams have also saturated the area to ensure the safety and security at all”.

Security in the area has since been beefed up in the area.

The Police Service has also indicated the family of the deceased with be assisted with some psychological support while the deal with their lost.

“Police are providing clinical psychologists to offer psycho-social support to the family,” the statement said.
