Woman, 64, appeals for GHC50,000.00 to save sight



A 64-year-old woman, who is suffering from a brain tumour, has appealed for support to raise GHC50,000.00 for surgery to save her sight.

Madam Rose Afriyie is suffering from a Meningioma (a brain tumour) and needs the amount for immediate medical attention, else, she would lose her sight.

Madam Afriyie has for the past six months been receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and needed the amount for the surgery.

The surgery is said to be better performed in India or South Africa.

Her medical report said the tumour had invaded a major sinus (drainage for most of the veins) in the brain and that she needed financial support for the surgery.

Madam Afriyie, a petty trader, is unable to read and cannot engage in any economic activity due to her condition.

She developed the condition after she was struck with a stroke.
