The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Western Regional Branch has decided to hold its parliamentary primary in two orphan seats within the Region on December 09 and 16.
In an interview with the media, Mr. Ndede Siah, the Western Regional Chairman of the NPP, stated that the delegates in the Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira and Jomoro seats will choose their parliamentary candidates on December 9 and December 16, respectively.
The elections in Ellembelle and the two seats were postponed to address some unresolved concerns.
While the Ellembelle issue was still pending, Mr Siah stated that the problems at Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira and Jomoro had been sorted, allowing for the election date to be announced.
In that respect, he stated that five candidates had been screened and approved by the party’s regional executives to run in the two seats’ primary.
The candidates running for Evalue-Ajomoro Gwira are Mr Justice Kangah, the incumbent Constituency Organiser, and Madam Catherine Abenlemah Afeku, a former Member of Parliament (MP).
The candidates in Jomoro are Mr Paul Hopeson Kwaw, Mr Ishmael Evonla Whajah, and Mr Paul Essien, a former Member of Parliament.
In Ellembelle, Mr. Siah said, the National Executives of the NPP were attempting to settle the dispute between Mr. Abeka Dauda and Mr. Kwasi Bonzo, the present Jomoro District Chief Executive (DCE).
He promised to fix a date for the elections in the constituency once all outstanding issues were settled between the two aspirants.
