I want Asiedu-Nketia to dare me – Koku Anyidoho

Vida Essel-LampteyThe Chief Executive Officer of the Atta-Mills Institute, Mr Samuel Koku Anyidoho has said the National Democratic Congress(NDC)’s request for refund of the filling fees for the 2020 elections was the party’s tacit acceptance of the elections.
He has therefore, asked the General Secretary of the party, Mr Johnson Aseidu Nketia to dare him to release his letter to the Electoral Commission, demanding for the refund.
“I want, Asiedu-Nketiah, to dare me to expose his letter to the EC, demanding for the refund of monies based on his tacit acceptance of the 2020 General Election”.

Mr Anyidoho made the comment in a twitter post sighted by GhanaPlus.com on Friday, October 29.
Mr Asiedu Nketia on February 9 on behalf of the National Democratic Congress wrote formerly to the Electoral Commission to refund to them monies paid as filing fee during the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
The letter signed by Mr Asiedu Nketia said the Functional Executive Committee of the NDC said “FEC also wishes to inform you that it is formally requesting refund of deposits it made in respect of it Presidential and Parliamentary candidates”.
“Regulation 46(1) of C.I. 127 spell out the conditions for refund or forfeiture of deposit made by Presidential or Parliamentary Candidates. A Presidential or Parliamentary Candidate must obtain a minimum of 25% and 12.5% respectively in a General Election to qualify for a refund”, the statement added.
The NDC was requesting for filling fees paid by the party on behalf of their Presidential Candidate and former President, Mr John Dramani Mahama.
They were also demanding refund on behalf of the party’s Parliamentary candidates for Two Hundred and Sixty Nine(269) constituencies across the 16 regions of the country.
The 269 NDC candidates obtained the minimum of 12% of the votes cast, a condition for refund of their filling fees.
