La Nkwantanang Madina Assembly Retains Barimah Blay As PM
Mr Braimah Ismaila Blay, the Presiding Member of La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly, has been re-elected with 15 votes to retain the position.
His contender, Mr David Emmanuel Asante-Kwatia, had six votes in an election conducted in a free and transparent environment.
Mr Blay, in a speech, pledged to work in harmony with all assembly members and relevant stakeholders to advance the vision of the Assembly by improving the living conditions of the citizenry.
He pleaded with members to let go any offence prior to the election and come together to work in unison for the progress of the municipality, adding that the mission and vision of the Assembly could be realized when all put their shoulders to the wheel.
“I would like to appeal to you to lend me your support to enable me deliver to the best of my ability during my second tenure in office,” Mr Blay said.
Mr Blay was sworn into office by Madam Susana Nyarkotey of the Madina Magistrate Court.
The election was conducted by the La Nkwantanang Municipal Electoral Commission, led by Lilian Oye Asare.
Madam Jennifer Dede Adjabeng, the Municipal Chief Executive, Madam Abena Kwesiwaa Kyei, the Municipal Coordinating Director and Cosmos Anyan, Municipal Police Commissioner grace the event.
