The Member of Parliament for the Ningo Prampram Constituency, Mr Samuel Nartey George has said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) must take a stance on the ongoing discussions concerning Lesbian, Gay, Bisexuals, Transgender and Queer Individuals (LGBTQI) community in the country.
In a comment sighted by GhanaPlus.com on twitter he said the party must make it clear whom they seeks to please, Ghanaians or foreign interest as far the LGBTQI+ right was concerned.
“The NDC as a political party must take a principled stance on this matter. I have. Who do we seek to please? Those we want to serve in government or foreign interests? We must have a definite position. Simple”.

His comment was in reaction to a twitter user’s reaction over a post in which Mr Samuel Nartey George spoked about attacks directed at him due to his role in the bill against LGBTQI+ and asked those responsible for the attacks to bow down their head in shame and take their perversion and allow him to speak his truth.
“I have seen the attacks from a few goons aligned to a political inclination based on my leadership on the PMB against LGBTQI+ in Ghana. Bow your heads in shame. Nothing would stand in our way to get this Bill passed by the House. Take your perversion and let me speak my truth!,” the Ningo Prampram legislators post reads .

Don’t be a sacrificial lamp for NDC’s defeat in 2024
In response to the Ningo Prampram MP’s post, a twitter user who goes by the name Motherland believed to be a sympathizer of the NDC begged the MP not be a sacrificial lamp responsible for the defeat of the party in the 2024 elections.
“We dey beg u oo…don’t be a sacrificial lamb for ndc losing 2024 elections…U can ask Trump about this lgbtq stuff…hope u see how npp is being tactical with it?…stay cool ooo….ayooo”.
