Politicians ain’t leaders – Kwame Jantuah

A member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Mr Mr Kwame  Jantuah has reacted to the huge financial loses that has been recorded under the administration of the Akufo-Addo led government and in times past.

According to him, politicians are not leaders and that explains the development over the years.

Mr Jantuah noted, politicians unlike leaders only think about the next election hence place party first above the interest of the country, a situation responsible for the lack of commitment on their part to protect the public interest.

The renown political added the country will be in big trouble if the party first syndrome is not addressed.

Mr Kwame Jantuah made the comment on TV3 NewDay on Tuesday, December 28 monitored by GhanaPlus.com.

“…..Is because when people get into office they think about party before the country. Politicians aint leaders, politicians are the kind of people who are thinking about the next election. Leaders are people who think generational. They think of what is going to happen in the next 30years and so when they plan they plan towards those 30years and so when people come out and say Kwame Nkrumah was X,  Kwame Nkrumah was this, he was a generational leader with vision,” he said.

And if we do not try to arrest the situation we find our self in, especially because we bring party before country then we are in big trouble, big, big trouble, ” Mr Jantuah added.

Mr Jantuah expressed worry as to why the Finance Minister, Mr Ken Ofori – Atta has not instituted any investigations into the development ascertain the where about of those monies reported unaccounted for.

“I think there are huge lapses that the finance minister really hasn’t not been able to grapple with. You know start with the auditor general. 2016 718million, 2017, 12billon, 2018, 3billion, 2019 5.4billion, 2020, 12.8billion waste and you telling me it is not an important area for the finance minister to investigate where all these monies have gone. I find it quite extra ordinary that we can lose all these monies”

He said the NDC cannot been exempted as far as unaccounted state funds are concerned indicating,  Ghanaians are the most affected in the situation.

“When you at the types of loses that we experiencing here especially over this four year period and I will not give excuse for the NDC either when they were in power, we were losing these amount of money, who is caught in between, the people”.
