The Former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC,) Mr Bernard Allotey Jacobs has been expelled from the party.

I don’t belong to the NDC; I have dismissed myself

The decision comes barely a week, Mr Allotey Jacobs announced he had dismissed himself from the party and hence does not belong to the party any more.

I no longer belong to the NDC…I know I have been suspended but I’ve dismissed myself. I’m not going to join the NPP; I will never be an NPP member but I’m no longer with the NDC…

He indicated, all though he had no plans of joining the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP), he would not never return to the party.

However, letter sighted by GhanaPlus.com issued and signed by the General Secretary of the Party, Mr Johnson Aseidu Nketia on Tuesday, March 23 said the decision was unanimous and was in compliance with the party’s constitution.

According to the letter, Mr Allotey Jacobs who was suspended last year was being expelled for misconduct and anti party behavior after being found guilty for the allegations leveled against him.

“The Committee report which is herein attached for your attention, found you guilty of the said allegations of misconduct,anti-party conduct and recommended among other things your immediate expulsion from the party,” the letter reads.

 “The Functional Executive Committee acting in compliance of article 48(1) of the NDC Constitution has unanimously adopted the report and accepts fully its recommendation for your expulsion from the party”.

“You are therefore by the decision of FEC been expelled from the National Democratic Congress and for that matter no more recognized as a member of the party and cannot carry yourself as such,” the letter continues.

The party has therefore, directed Mr Allotey Jacobs to return to the party any properties that may be in his possession.

“You are by this letter pursuant to article 48(10) directed to return any party properties that may be in your custody and shall forfeit any moneys, dues  or subscription fees made to the party,” the letter added.
